Bitter Melon (Pare), The Delicious Bitter

Pare

Bitter, a taste that some people dislike. People tend to avoid bitter taste after knowing sweet taste. Many people choose other ways than have to feel bitterness. Just a little who interest in bitter tastes. Only certain people accept the bitter taste.

When we talk about the bitter taste of life, the taste is too broad. The bitterness in life is very diverse. This hand will not be able to write down all worldly bitterness. Let's talk about the bitter taste that is simple but has the same meaning.

Have you ever eaten bitter fruit or vegetables? If not, you should try it after reading this article. Have you ever eaten bitter melon? In Indonesian it is usually called "pare", in Sundanese it is "paria". These vegetables have a bitter taste, but vegetables are still vegetables. This green vegetable is not poison even though it has a bitter taste.

For people who do not like the bitterness of bitter melon, they will immediately judge its taste as bad. But for people who dare to taste the bitter vegetables, will judge correctly, whether this food is delicious or not.

Delicacy is not judged by the bitterness or sweetness of things or experience. Enjoyment is just an expression that people like it. Sweet things don't always bring goodness, and bitter things don't always bring badness.

Like bitter melon, some people do various ways so that everyone can enjoy this bitter vegetable. Various types of recipes have been born from just one pare. For example, sauteed pare, steamed pare with coconut, fresh pare with sambal, and others.

With so many people tasting bitter melon, so many people also are aware that the bitter taste can be enjoyed and learned. They can judge properly and express true taste. 

For me, bitter melon is a unique food. If in the right people, this vegetable can be a very delicious food beating McD's fried chicken. Even though it is bitter in nature, for those who know how to cook it, this bitter melon won't taste bitter after serving. I'm sure you will like it too.

      Kalau saya suka Pare ini ditumis pedas oleh suami saya, kalau saya yang masak, ga bisa dimakan, pahiiittttttt hahahaha

  2. aku suka sayur yang pahit pahit setelah dewasa gini, pas masih bocil padahal nda suka, e abis mencicipi dunia perantauan yang kadang suka lapar dan ndilalah warung jauh jadi pas nemu warung adanya sayur itu ya jadi suka termasuk sayur pare atau yang pahit pahit lainnya macam dayn kates atau pepaya itu juga aku suka sih

  6. Buah pare kalau di tempatku disebutnya buah paria, mang. Suka banget rasanya yang pahit-pahit gimanaa gitu. Malah pernah nanam pohonnya di samping rumah. Saat berbuah, senangnya minta ampun, gak bisa diungkapkan dengan kata-kata, hehee...

  11. Other then some citruses I haven't tried many bitter fruits and veggies, but I sometimes like adding some bitter taste to my food, especially the soups :)

  12. Kalo aku cukup suka ama sayur Pare ini, meski rasanya pahit, tapi tetap enak kok.
    Tapi itu kembali ama penilaian masing-masing sih.

    Btw, emang benar sih, karena rasanya yang pahit, jadi banyak yang berkreasi ama Pare ini biar bisa dinikmati banyak orang.

  19. Pare itu kesukaanku. Meski rasanya pahit-pahit gimana gitu... tapi terasa enak tapi kalau di pare yang di somay aku nggak suka..pahiiiit banget. Nah aku sukanya kalau dibuat tumis pare.. wah bisa nambah selera makan.. terus dikasih pete...udang... wah.. mantap pol...πŸ‘Œ

  20. Aku malah ga akan suka pare kalo rasanya ga pahit mas. Pahit pare itu justru yg bikin aku tergila2 :D. Paling suka makanan pare yg size kecil, lalu dimakan mentah, cocokin Ama sambel terasi, beuuugh enaaaak bangetttt itu ;). Aku terbiasa Ama sayurn2 pahit karena mama yg ngebiasajn dari kecil :).

  21. Saya suka makanan pahit mas Intan (apalagi pare) suka bangat. Biar penyakit gula tidak mengalahkan manisnya saya iya kwkkw, bercanda mas. Selama bertugas di Papua banyak penyakit Malaria kami di sarankan untuk makan sayuran yang pahit, selain daun pepaya, pare salah satunya....

    Terima kasih mas Intan sudah mengingatkan saya tentang tanah Papua...

  22. Pare... yeayy.. suka banget sama sayuraan satu ini.. Dulu almarhum ibu sering bikin pare, dan rasanyaa enak buangeett,, Yahh makanan Ibu selalu mantap sih...
